Hawzah News Agency- Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a media gathering in Isfahan, Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi said the strategic waterway is under full Iranian control, and no enemy military vessel is currently present inside the Persian Gulf.
"All enemy warships have moved at least 400 kilometers away from the Strait of Hormuz. Militarily and territorially, no vessel can transit this waterway without Iran's permission and management," Mohebbi stated.
The IRGC spokesman noted that the strait is shared between Iran and Oman, which lies across from Iranian shores. He said the two sides entered negotiations approximately one month ago and reached mutually acceptable conclusions.
"In these talks, agreements were reached regarding each country's share of the strait's waters as well as Iran and Oman's respective shares of its revenues," Mohebbi said.
He accused the United States of obstructing the process, saying Washington's interference has delayed implementation of the understandings.
"If the US sets aside its obstruction and returns to the agreement, we can reopen the Strait of Hormuz within the framework of the reached understanding. Therefore, our conditions must be accepted by the United States, and if the US does not accept our conditions, the Strait of Hormuz will by no means be reopened," the spokesman emphasized.
